Holness begins meetings with Shaw, other party figures

Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness has started meetings with senior party officials including Audley Shaw, to discuss the way forward following yesterday’s leadership election.

The meeting also follows the resignations of several spokespersons who supported Shaw.

Media manager for Holness, Robert Morgan says the meetings which got underway this morning are part of a series of consultations by the party leader with members of the JLP.

Yesterday, after being declared winner, Holness said he would meet with Audley Shaw and his campaign team today.

Meanwhile, Shaw told Labourites after the results were announced that he will remain faithful to the party and that he was ready to support Holness.

Holness staved off a challenge from Shaw yesterday, polling 2,704 votes to Shaw's 2012.
