Constable charged with ganja offences

The constable, who was yesterday held with a quantity of ganja at the Portmore police station, has been charged.

Thirty-eight year-old Richard Stoner has been charged with possession of and dealing in ganja as well as breaches of the Corrections Act.

He was held during a search of personnel who were on duty for the midnight to 8 am shift.

The police say the constable was found with $37,000 and a quantity of ganja.

A further search of his locker also revealed a quantity of the weed.

Stoner is to appear in Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
