Haitian president arrives in Jamaica, red carpet rolled out

Haitian President Michel Martelly arrived in Jamaica Wednesday, on a three-day state visit.

Martelly was met on a specially-prepared red carpet on the tarmac of the Norman Manley International Airport by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, during a colourful ceremony.

Also in attendance were Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, Opposition Leader Andrew Holness as well as the entire Cabinet.

Simpson Miller will shortly be hosting Martelly at a reception at Vale Royal.

Starting today, the Haitian President will be engaged in more serious talks with the Prime Minister; Opposition Leader and the range of government officials and representatives of executive agencies.
