The murder trial involving dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his five co-accused is to resume in the Home Circuit Court this morning when the jury selection is expected to be completed.

Yesterday, Kartel, whose given name is Adidja Palmer and his co-accused pleaded not guilty when the matter started before Justice Lennox Campbell.

Nine of 12 jurors were selected yesterday and it is expected that the final three will be in place by 2 p.m.

Kartel is jointly charged with fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell, popularly known as Shawn Storm, fashion designer Calvin Haye, André St John, Shane Williams and Kahira Jones for the 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

It is alleged that Williams was killed at Kartel’s home in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 16, 2011.

It is further alleged that Williams was killed after he and another man were taken to the entertainer’s house to account for a lost firearm.

The other man is expected to be the prosecution’s main witness.

Williams’ body has not been found.

However, the police have reported that they have video and audio recordings linking Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants to the killing.
