VYBZ KARTEL TRIAL: Jury selection in 'Lizard' murder case enters third day

Published:Wednesday | November 20, 2013 | 8:49 AM

Another effort will be made today to complete the selection of the panel of jurors to try the murder case against dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his five co-accused.

The hearing of arguments could not begin yesterday because the full slate of 12 jurors had not been selected.

Three more jurors are still needed.

Justice Lennox Campbell says he might have to revisit the list of potential jurors today to have a larger pool to select from.

The police say they are having difficulties communicating with two of the witnesses in the matter.

The police told the court yesterday that only four civilian witnesses are available.

However, Senior Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor says the Crown is ready to start its case.

Kartel and five other men are charged with the August 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in Heavendale St Andrew.
