The Clarendon Parish Council is warning that scores of prominent residents will be taken to court to settle millions of dollars in property taxes.

Wayne Brown, the Finance Director at the Clarendon Parish Council says more than $260 million is owed in property tax.

The finance director says of this amount, $161 million is owed by some 1,600 high net worth delinquents.

Brown say one entity alone accounts for almost $8 million.

According to Brown, some of Clarendon's most prominent residents have not paid a cent in property taxes for the past four years, and have rebuffed all attempts to comply.
