Clarendon high school student injured as police attempt to accost man

A female student who attends the Central High School in Clarendon was shot and injured while on her way to school this morning.

It is alleged that police were on patrol in the Webb Lane area in Palmer's Cross this morning when they tried to confront a man who ran into a yard.

The residents said the police then started firing and the teen was hit.

She was taken to the May Pen Hospital where she has been admitted.

The angry residents later took to the streets to register their anger at the police.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is investigating the incident.
