FOOTBALL: FIFA offers condolences to 'Dago' Gordon's family

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has offered condolences to the family of former Boys’ Town and national footballer, Herbert ‘Dago’ Gordon who died on Sunday.



Blatter extended condolences through a letter addressed to Captain Horace Burrell, President of the Jamaica Football Federation.



In the letter, Blatter asked Captain Burrell to extend FIFA deepest condolences to Dago family, friends, loved ones as well as the entire football community of Jamaica.



Blatter further said in the letter that FIFA is hoping that in some way, its words of support may help bring a little piece and solace at this time of sadness.



Gordon died at the Kingston Public Hospital after a brief illness.



He was 61.



At the time of his death he was assistant coach at Boys’ Town.



Gordon was one of the stars of the outstanding Boys’ Town teams of the 1970s.
