CRICKET: WICB considers axing Combined Campuses and Colleges from tournaments

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) CEO Michael Muirhead says his Board is considering axing Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) from the regional tournaments next year.

Muirhead says the issue and the discussion about the CCC’s future in the tournament will be discussed at the Board’s meeting on December 7.

Muirhead says the discussions will also center around measures to encourage territories to contract the players from the current CCC squad in order to draft them into their squads.

The CEO further says the decision to axe CCC may come because of commercial reasons.

He says the WICB wants a more structured way and there is a new director of cricket on board and he is looking at elevating how the board develops its cricket.

Englishman Richard Pybus, the former Pakistan coach, is the new director of cricket.
