Players in the Canada/Caribbean Seasonal Agricultural Workers’ Programme are to gather in Jamaica next week to conduct the annual review of the programme.

The event, which is being organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, is slated to be held from December 1-7 in Montego Bay, James.

More than 60 delegates, including Canadian Government officials, Canadian employers, Ministers of Labour from Caribbean states, and Liaison Officers are expected to participate in the conference.

The labour ministry says discussions will be held on issues such as the hiring and processing of workers, housing and living conditions, safety and health concerns and workers’ rights.
