The Wisynco Group has acquired 50 per cent of the Bog Walk, St Catherine-based Trade Winds Citrus.

Peter McConnell, Managing Director of Trade Winds Citrus Ltd believes the venture is invaluable to both entities.

“This partnership will immediately offer broader availability for the Tru-Juice and associated brands locally and internationally," said McConnell.

He said it is projected that under the new partnership there will be significant increase in the production capacity and growth in the business in the short term.

Wisynco services almost 8,000 outlets across the island and there are plans to make the brands available through its entire network.

According to William Mahfood, Managing Director of Wisynco Group Ltd, the partnership will boost growth for both entities.

“Collectively we feel that leveraging all of our respective strengths will create great opportunities for the future," Mahfood said.

" Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the Diaspora can look forward to great locally grown and manufactured products for their continued enjoyment from this truly Jamaican partnership of innovators,” he said.

Both entities will maintain their current business structure.

Trade Winds Citrus Ltd locally produces Tru-Juice Premium Quality Juices and Freshhh Fruit Juice Drinks, for local and regional markets.
