UPDATE: JUTC drivers back on the job

Published:Thursday | November 28, 2013 | 5:28 PM

Some drivers of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) have ended their industrial action.

The move followed a meeting this afternoon between the management of the JUTC and the workers' union.

JUTC’s Marketing and Communications Manager Clinton Clarke says the drivers went on strike in show of solidarity with one of their co-workers who was reportedly arrested by the police this morning.

The circumstances surrounding the driver’s arrest are unclear at this time.

The industrial action left some commuters stranded.
