Pregnant woman disembarks Coaster bus in middle lane, hit by another

A pregnant woman is now in hospital after being hit by a coaster bus along East Street, Kingston yesterday morning.




The police say 35-year-old Veronica Williams, a vendor of Chancery Street in St Andrew, was hit by a coaster bus while attempting to cross East Street sometime after 9 a.m.



The woman is said to be about four months pregnant.



Up to yesterday doctors were trying the save the life of the woman’s unborn child.



Meanwhile, residents from the community of Little North Street, who allegedly witnessed the incident, explained that the woman came off a coaster bus in the middle lane of the street before being hit by another vehicle.



They further stated that it is a dangerous practice of persons to alight from buses in the middle of the street to cross the road.
