The wreckage of a Mozambique Airlines plane that disappeared over Namibia has been found, but authorities say there are no survivors.

Thirty-four crew members and passengers were aboard the aircraft when it took off from the Mozambique capital of Maputo on its way to Angola.

However, flight controllers lost contact with the crew as the aircraft flew over northern Namibia.

Today the Namibia police reported that the burnt-out aircraft was found in the Bwabwata National Park, which borders Angola and Botswana.

Deputy Commissioner of the Namibia Police Force Willy Bampton told reporters that the plane was burnt to ashes and there are no survivors.
