Caribbean Premier League gets new chairman

Leading sports administrator, Richard Bevan, has been elected new chairman of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Bevan, who has more than 20 years experience working with elite level sports, is to assume the position with immediate effect.

He is the current Chief Executive of the League Managers Association in the UK, having previously held the role of CEO at the English Professional Cricketers Association.

The CPL held its inaugural season over the summer, hosting more than 250,000 fans across six countries.

The league says plans were underway for the second edition next year.
