CUBAN LIGHT BULB TRIAL: Case adjourned until January 7, 2014

Published:Tuesday | December 17, 2013 | 12:30 PM

The corruption trial of former junior minister Kern Spencer has been adjourned until January 7.

The early adjournment came because no prosecution witness is available.

There are five remaining witnesses in the five year-old trial.

Spencer and his former personal assistant Colleen Wright are on trial for money laundering and illicit enrichment arising from the implementation of the Cuban light bulb project.

Earlier this year, presiding magistrate Judith Pusey, expressed frustration with the delays in the case saying she wanted it to be completed by the end of the year.
