Registrar General’s Department ends delivery services
The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) says as of tomorrow it will discontinue the delivery of all certificates and packages through contracted couriers.
This means that customers making applications at the Agency will now have to collect their certificates at their chosen RGD office island wide.
The RGD says when making an application, customers should indicate to the Customer Service Representative, which of the RGD offices they would prefer to collect their certificates/packages.
RGD CEO, Deirdre English-Gosse, says the agency saw it fit to implement this strategic move, as a number of customers have been making requests to collect their certificates at RGD offices.
Currently, all customers are charged $100 as a partial recovery towards the delivery of certificates.
However, Deirdre English-Gosse says as of December 31 when the delivery service is discontinued, customers will no longer be required to pay the $100.
She also says the discontinuation of the delivery will help to reduce the number of returned certificates in storage at the RGD.
The phased discontinuance of delivery services at the RGD began on June 4.
