Manchester Secretary Manager transfer not politically affiliated, says mayor

The Mayor of Mandeville Brenda Ramsay is seeking to dispel rumors surrounding the transfer of the Secretary Manager for the Manchester parish Council.

She is insisting that Christopher Powell’s transfer has not resulted from political interference.

Powell who has been at the Manchester Parish Council since December 2012 is being transferred by the Public Services Commission.

According to Mayor Ramsay, a letter was sent to the Manchester Parish Council stating the transfer of Powell to the St Mary Parish Council will take effect in January 2014.

She notes that the Public Service Commission is the body responsible for such transfers.

She further explains that as Powell does not hold a political office, political affiliation on his part would not cause his transfer.

Powell will be replaced by David Parks from the St Mary Parish Council.
