Nine of the 13 persons detained in Manchester today in a series of coordinated raids by the Lottery Scam Taskforce are expected to face criminal charges.

The others have been released.

Media relations officer for the Lottery Scam Taskforce Special Corporal Kevin Watson says arrangements are now being made to have the nine persons questioned in the presence of their attorneys.

Following this Watson says it is anticipated that they will be charged under the newly-enacted Law Reform Special Provisions Act with possession of identifying information as well as conspiracy.

The operations started as early as 5 o’clock this morning in several communities in Manchester.
