A 57-year-old woman, her two sons and teenaged grand-daughter, are among 11 persons facing criminal charges after they were accused of partaking in lottery scamming activities.

They were detained in a series of coordinated raids by the Lottery Scam Taskforce in Manchester yesterday.

Media relations officer for the Lottery Scam Task Force, Special Corporal Kevin Watson, says the four were detained after several lead lists and other items linked to the scam were allegedly found at premises they occupied.

A total of 15 persons were detained in the day-long operations which started at 5 a.m. yesterday.

But Watson said four were released by mid-afternoon after investigators indicated that they had no interest in them.

He says it is expected that the others will be charged under the Law Reform Special Provision Act that was enacted recently.
