A motorcyclist was killed late this afternoon when he was hit by a Guardsman Armoured truck on Upper Waterloo Road, St Andrew near the Canadian High Commission.

The incident has caused a huge pile up of traffic.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.

However, he is said to be from Grant's Pen in St Andrew.

Reports indicate that a pillion rider has been taken to hospital.

A woman who said she is a cousin of the deceased, said he had just rang her asking that she pick up pizza for the family.

She said the motorcyclist had gone to Half-Way Tree and was apparently returning home when the accident happened.
