Four years after the massive earthquake that struck Haiti, the International Organization for Migration says an estimated 146,000 displaced persons remain in camps.

The organisation says the figure represents 39,000 households, who remain in 271 camps scattered throughout the capital, Port-Au-Prince and other regions.

It says that since the height of the crisis, its Displacement Tracking Matrix has registered a decrease of 89 per cent in the total number of households and an 83 per cent decrease in the number of sites.

The organisation says since June 2011 it has relocated approximately 60,000 households.
