The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has charged a cop with murder and conspiracy to murder.

In the meantime, the Commission has released a statement indicating that it has launched a probe into the conduct of personnel in the Area Three Police.

The Area Three Police comprise personnel from Manchester, St Elizabeth and Clarendon.

In the statement, INDECOM did not release the details surrounding the charges against the cop or the Area Three Police probe, saying the investigation is at a stage where it cannot further comment.

However, INDECOM says the cop was charged as a result of the investigation.

It also said the Commission conducted a search of the May Pen Police Station on January 16, following which several weapons were recovered.

According to INDECOM, it has been tracking the conduct of police personnel in Area Three.

It also says as part of the probe, it has received files from the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
