A Jamaican man has been arrested and charged in the gruesome slaying of a four-year-old boy that has shocked the city of New York, in the United States.

Prosecutors have identified him as 27-year-old Kryzie King, who was born in Jamaica as Christopher King, and who is believed to be a transvestite.

King is facing charges of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful imprisonment in the death of four-year-old Myls Dobson.

The child was found dead two weeks ago in the bathroom of an apartment in Manhattan and court records show that he was gagged, beaten and burned over a three-week period while he was in King’s care.

Speaking at a news conference yesterday, the Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio said it is very painful to know that Dobson went through such agony.
