Police curtail movement in August Town

Published:Sunday | January 19, 2014 | 12:47 PM

The community of August Town in St Andrew remains under curfew this afternoon as the police try to tackle crime in one of the Corporate Area's most volatile communities.

The lock-down began at 6:00 p.m. yesterday and will continue through to tomorrow.

The Constabulary Communication Network says the boundary of the curfew will run:

- North along Hermitage Road from Princess Alice Way to the intersection of University and August Town Roads.

- East along August Town Road from the intersection with University Road to 19 August Town Road.

- South along an imaginary line from 19 August Town Road to the Goldsmith Villa gully.

- And, west along the Goldsmith Villa main road to Princess Alice Way from the gully to Hermitage Road.

During the curfew people must remain within their residence unless authorised by the member of the security force in charge of enforcing the curfew.
