KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Grief and shock hung on the faces of the occupants of a house on Penso Street in the South St Andrew community of Jones Town this afternoon, following an incident of rape, robbery and murder this morning.

It is reported that about 3 a.m., four armed thugs gained entrance to the house in the community, where a laptop, a number of cell phones and other items were stolen.

A 21-year-old woman was raped and a man identified as O'rantis Daley was fatally shot in the head.

“A friend of the family was used as leverage to gain entrance to the house but the man jumped through a window and escaped and the men ran after him,” said a 22-year-old occupant of the house.

The 22-year-old man also explained that one of the men shot Daley in front of his five-year-old child and that a 13-year-old was also gun-butted by one of the men during the incident.

Another occupant of the house mentioned that a shop on the street was also robbed.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
