KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Public health inspectors who took industrial action yesterday are to return to work this morning.

Unionised Public Health Inspectors in the Kingston and St Andrew Public Health Area yesterday refused to use their personal vehicles for work purposes as they demanded an increase in mileage rates.

General Secretary of the Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, Helene Davis-White says an agreement has been reached for the inspectors to receive the increase which was agreed on some time ago.

She says the health inspectors will receive the new rates next month.

The agreement was reached during a meeting yesterday afternoon between union delegates and officials from the South East Regional Health Authority.
