Indonesia volcano eruption claims 13 lives
At least 13 persons have been confirmed dead following a series of eruptions by the Mount Sinabung volcano in Indonesia.
And officials fear there may be more casualties, but say rescue workers are being kept at bay by the heat from the eruption.
Emergency officials say three schoolchildren and a teacher are among those killed.
According to one official, the volcano, which last erupted in 2010, began spewing hot gas, ash and rocks up to 1 and a half miles into the air in a series of eruptions this morning.
Pictures taken at the scene showed rescue workers recovering bodies that were buried in ash.
Prior to 2010, the Sinabung had not erupted in 400 years.
