A Clarendon motorist is facing several charges this morning following a weekend incident in which he allegedly mowed down a policeman during a traffic stop.

The policeman escaped serious injuries, but had to be treated at hospital.

The police say on Saturday afternoon, Jeremy Hill of a Chapelton address was signalled to stop during a police spot check on Bryants Cresent, May Pen.

Hill reportedly disobeyed the order and proceeded to hit the policeman before speeding away.

The driver and the vehicle were later found in Alexandria.

Hill was accosted and charged with disobeying a police stop signal, dangerous driving and driving away from the scene of an accident.
