The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the death of a detainee at the Darling Street Police Station in Kingston.

He has been identified as 20-year-old Oshane Dothlyn, a higgler of a Kingston address.

INDECOM says the circumstances surrounding his death are not yet clear.

The police say the detainee hanged himself with his clothes.

Dothlyn was arrested on Saturday.

INDECOM says it was informed about the death about 7:45 last night and its forensics team processed the scene and the body of the deceased.
