MANCHESTER, Jamaica:

The former Postmaster at the Mandeville Post Office in Manchester is to return to court on February 19 after being charged in relation to the alleged theft of more than $2 million.

Forty-eight-year-old Seloney Jennings of Woodhall district in Clarendon appeared before the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

She was taken there after being arrested and charged with larceny as a servant and falsification of accounts.

The police say their investigation of her began in 2011 when the postmaster general made a report to the police, alleging that Jennings used her position to steal more than $2 million.

Jennings was offered bail in the sum of $3 million.
