Person of interest in jet ski accident still being sought

The Police are yet to locate the a person of interest they have named in relation to the death of a tourist in a jet ski incident in Negril, Westmoreland on January 28.



On Friday, they listed Paul Hanson, otherwise called ‘Oneil’, as a person of interest.



Yesterday they said the search for him was still on.



They are urging him to make contact with the Negril police.



The police also want anyone with information that can assist them to call 957-4268 or 957-4857.



The police are seeking to assure members of the public that they are keeping a keen eye on owners and operators of watercraft, especially in St Ann and Westmoreland.



They say as a result of ongoing investigations by the Marine Police alongside the Tourism Product Development Company 189 illegal operators of watercraft have been arrested between 2013 and this year.



The police are also reporting the seizure of 42 illegal watercraft during the same period.
