Four Falmouth police officers arrested, charged for alleged assault

Four police officers have been arrested and charged for the October 20, 2013 alleged assault of Kamoza Clarke while in custody at the Falmouth police lock-up.

The men were all arrested and charged at the Falmouth Police Station and taken to the Resident Magistrates Court in the parish to answer to the said charges.



District Constables Alwayne Eccleston and Onecko Brown were charged with Wounding with Intent to do grievous bodily harm and misconduct in a public office while district constables Desmond Lawrence and Triston Turner were charged with Neglect of Duty.



District Constables Eccleston and Brown were granted bail in the sum of $700,000 each with one to three sureties.



Both police officers are to report to the Sandy Bay Police Station and the Falmouth Police Station respectively on Mondays and Fridays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.



District constables Turner and Lawrence were offered bail in the sum of $500,000 each with one to three sureties.



Both police officers are to report to the Ulster Spring Police Station and the Wakefield Police Station respectively on Mondays and Fridays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.



They were ALL ordered to surrender their travel documents and stop orders placed on them at all ports of entry.



The matter is set for mention on March 31.
