Road crash fatalities climb

The number of persons killed on the nation’s roads since the start of the year has climbed to 26.



This after a fatal crash in Westmoreland yesterday that claimed the lives of

37-year-old Nichola Graham, of Petersfield and 20-year-old Lavern Gordon, of New Works, both in Westmoreland.



The Whitehouse police report that shortly after 5 p.m. a motor vehicle carrying eight persons was travelling along the Petersville main road towards Savanna-la-mar when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed in a tree.



The occupants were rushed to hospital where Gordon and Graham were pronounced dead.
