ST CATHERINE, Jamaica:

A Portmore woman who pleaded guilty to stabbing a man twice has been fined $150,000 or six months hard labour.

She is Tammeka Grenidge of Naggo Head in St Catherine.

When the matter was mentioned in the Spanish Town Resident magistrate’s court this morning RM Marcia Dunbar Green asked the accused if she was willing to pay the man’s medical bills.

Grenidge said no and was then sentenced by the court.

The court heard that in December the accused used a broken bottle to stab the complainant twice.

A report was made to the Portmore police station.

An investigation was launched which resulted in the accused being charged with wounding.
