Councillor Esworth Frankson of the Old Harbour Central division in St Catherine has crossed the floor in the St Catherine Parish Council, to sit with members of the People's National Party (PNP).

Frankson, who was elected on a Jamaica Labour Party ticket, was recently expelled from the party after seeking membership in the PNP.

Frankson has explained that he was having difficulties with the Member of Parliament South West St Catherine, Everald Warmington.

This morning, there were loud cheers as Frankson, dressed in an orange shirt and grey suit, joined his PNP colleagues.

"My decision to cross the floor is a conscious one to serve the people better," Frankson said.
