Four prisoners, who are all from St Elizabeth, escaped from the Santa Cruz Police Lock-up in the parish this morning. They are:

1. Ryan Thomas, 21, of Leeds district, who is charged with murder.

2. Entley Smith, 31, of Haughton district, who is charged with murder.

3. Nicolas Mason, 21, of Elderslie district, who is charged with robbery.

4. Elrado Turner, 22, of Burnt Ground district, who is charged with housebreaking.

Reports are that about 5:45 a.m., during a routine check at the facility, it was discovered that the men escaped by cutting away a section of a grille.

The police are urging the men to turn themselves in and are also appealing to residents of the surrounding communities as well as their family members and loved ones not to provide a safe haven for them, as it is an offence to harbor a criminal.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Ryan Thomas, Entley Smith, Nicolas Mason and Elrado Turner is being asked to contact the Santa Cruz Police at 966-2289, the Black River Police at 965-2232, Crime Stop at 311, 811 or www.tipsubmit.com, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
