FOOTBALL: City boss Pellegrini given two-match touchline ban

Published:Saturday | March 1, 2014 | 8:18 AM

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been given an immediate two-match touchline ban by UEFA for criticising the referee after his side's Champions League match against Barcelona.

Pellegrini said after the 2-0 home loss that Swedish official Jonas Eriksson was not impartial to both teams.

He was charged with misconduct and will be in the stands for the second leg on March 12, plus one more match.

A further one-game ban is suspended for two years, but Pellegrini can appeal.
