Kaliese Spencer ran a blistering last 200m to win the silver medal in the women's 400m final at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland earlier.

Spencer, a specialist in the 400m hurdles, registered a personal best 51.54 to finish behind American Francena McCorory, 51.12 and ahead of Bahamian Shaunae Miller, 52.06, with another Jamaican Patricia Hall crossing the line in fifth place in 52.51.

This was the first podium finish at a global senior championships for Spencer, who had fourth placed 400m hurdles finishes at the 2009 and 2011 IAAF World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games.
