$200,000 bail for 58-y-o teacher accused of touching 12-y-o girl's butt

The 58-year-old teacher arrested and charged by the Morant Bay police in St Thomas for child grooming and touching has been offered $200,000 bail with two sureties.




He appeared in the Morant Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court today.



He has also been ordered to stay away from the school; and surrender his travel documents.



It is reported that the teacher was picked up by the Morant Bay police on March 10, following allegation of abuse against a 12-year-old girl.

Police sources say the teacher is alleged to have given the minor lunch money, asked her for kisses, invited her to his house and touched her in a sexual manner.



The accused teacher is booked to return to court on April 9 when the case will again be mentioned.
