Suspected lottery scammers arrested in St Thomas

ST THOMAS, Jamaica:

Seven people - five men and two women - are now in police custody on suspicion of lottery scam operation.




They were held during a joint police operation involving the St Thomas Operation Support Team and the St Thomas Street Crime Unit.



The police say about 6 a.m. today they went to a dwelling house at Prospect district and conducted a searched.



They say a large quantity of identity information believed to be associated with persons overseas were found.



The police also confirmed that a number of cell phones, laptops, tablets and other technical gadget were seized.



The police say those held are being processed and charges are expected to laid against them next week The suspects are reportedly from addresses in Mandeville and the Corporate Area.
