Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will headline a stellar field for the opening meeting of the 2014 IAAF Diamond League in Doha on May 9.

It will be the third appearance for the reigning World and Olympic 100-metre champion in Doha.

The 27-year-old Fraser-Pryce will run the 100-metre dash after winning the 200 metres last season in the Qatari capital.

She will be up against her Jamaican teammate Kerron Stewart, a 100-metre finalist at the Moscow World Championships and double world sprint finalist Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria.

The USA trio of Barbara Pierre, English Gardner and Alexandria Anderson will also race.

Three other Jamaicans will also compete in Doha. They are Moscow World 200-metre silver medalist Warren Weir, Jason Young and Nickel Ashmeade.

Weir won the Diamond League 200-metre title last year.
