Published:Saturday | March 22, 2014 | 1:27 PM

A teenage boy had to seek medical treatment yesterday after a section of the pedestrian walkway along the May Pen Bridge collapsed.

The incident has left residents fearing for their safety and demanding swift corrective actions.

Seventeen-year-old Gerald Brown reports that he was making his way across the bridge when he felt the floor beneath him gave way.

Brown says his right leg became trapped for some 15 minutes before personnel from the May Pen Fire Department came to his assistance.

He was taken to the May Pen Hospital for treatment.
