The Office of the Contractor General, (OCG) has confiscated 11 computers at the Hanover Parish Council as it investigates allegations of mishandling government funds against Mayor of Lucea Shernette Haughton.

All the files for the Green Island Division dating back to 2012 were seized.

The Gleaner understands that the team from OCG is back at the parish council today continuing its probe.

Meanwhile, the Local Government Minister Noel Arscott has called an emergency meeting in Kingston with members of the party hierarchy including MP for Western Hanover Ian Hayles.

A gag order has been placed on members of the council.

Efforts to get a comment from the Secretary Manager proved futile and the Gleaner team was advised that she was not in office.
