KINGSTON, Jamaica:

St Jago’s Raheem Chambers turned in a spectacular performance to smash Yohan Blake’s Class 2 Boys’ 100-metre record when he clocked 10.29 seconds to win the event at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium a short while ago.

Blake clocked 10.34 seconds to set the record in 2006 while attending St Jago.

Chambers won well ahead of Jhevaughn Matherson of Kingston College who clocked 10.37 seconds, while Jelani Walker of St George’s College finished third in 10.61 seconds.
