School named after CARICOM in Haiti

Published:Tuesday | April 1, 2014 | 2:39 PM

The Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat said that a new school built under the Medianet Haiti Relief Fund will be named in recognition of CARICOM’s solidarity with the project.

The new building is to be known as CARICOM Community School of Digue Matheux.

Assistant Secretary General in charge of Foreign and Community Relations, Colin Granderson, says the project should also be viewed as a gesture of solidarity from CARICOM to the people of Haiti.

Under the initiative 15 houses were also handed over to several Haitian families.
