Emergency officials have evacuated the NCB North and South Towers on the corner of Oxford and Old Hope Road in St Andrew.

The reason for the evacuation was not immediately clear.

However, three fire units are now on the property.

The officials first evacuated the South Tower before an alarm sounded on the North Tower indicating that the people there should leave the building.

Firemen wearing masks have since gone into the South Tower.

Several weeks ago, the South Tower had to be evacuated after suspicious fumes were detected.

At that time, the permanent secretary in the justice ministry, Carol Palmer, reported that there has been a perennial problem with suspicious fumes in the building.
