A man who the police say is wanted in the United States for murder is to appear in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s court today.

It is expected that extradition proceedings will be initiated against him.

The man is identified as 59-year-old Cleon Brown of Auborn Avenue, New York in the United States of America and Chester Castle, Hanover.

He was arrested by members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Mobile Reserve Division at Chester Castle early Tuesday morning.

It is reported that in April 2013, Brown was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Hernandez, during which she was attacked.

The police say shortly after the incident, Brown fled the USA.

The decomposed body of Hernandez was later found in his apartment with a stab wound, and he was subsequently indicted in October 2013 in the state of New York for her murder.
