More arrests at examination depots, irregularities coming to light

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Task Force (MOCA) says it has made another breakthrough in an ongoing probe into irregularities into the process by which persons are granted new and upgraded drivers' licences.

It says three individuals were arrested in Portland and St Mary yesterday.

These arrests follow three made last week in Kingston and St Thomas in relation to irregularities at a motor vehicle examination depot.

In the latest arrests, a motor vehicle examiner and two other men were detained during operations carried out by MOCA with the assistance of other police personnel in Portland and St Mary.

The police say they are scheduled to be interviewed in the presence of their lawyers shortly.
