Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls will open their campaign against Caribbean rivals St Lucia on the opening day of netball at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland July 23-August 3.

The netball competition begins on July 24.

Jamaica and St Lucia have been drawn in Pool ‘A’ with New Zealand, Malawi, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Jamaica’s remaining fixtures are against Northern Ireland on July 25, Scotland on July 27, Malawi on July 28 and New Zealand on July 30.

Pool ‘B’ comprises Caribbean teams Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados along with Australia, England, South Africa and Wales.

Meanwhile, two point shots could be introduced to seven-a-side netball in the near future, if rules trials in New Zealand and England later this year prove successful.

Under the International Netball Federation’s Regulations, a formal review of the Rules will take place at least once every eight years.

With the current eight year cycle ending after the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, the International Netball Federation’s rules advisory panel has drawn up a list of proposed changes and offered member nations the chance to trial the innovations.

Netball New Zealand and England Netball have taken up the challenge, each selecting rules to trial at a domestic level.

And an additional two-point scoring zone within the shooting circle will be trialled at New Zealand’s 2014 national Under-19 and Under-23 championships, alongside two other innovations.
